Description

With the rapid development of modern information and electronics industry, especially the requirement for lead-free soldering, higher requirements have been put forward for flux. The wettability of lead-free solder alloys is worse than that of lead-containing solder, so the expansion rate is relatively low. Therefore, improving the performance of flux is suitable for the requirements of lead-free solder, and improving the expansion rate has become one of the important standards for measuring flux.
Adding a certain amount of surfactant to the flux formula can improve the expansion rate. Traditional surfactants such as TX-10 are often used for their hydrocarbon surface activity, but due to their surface activity being only 30dyn/cm, their expansion rate in lead-free soldering applications is insufficient.
Fluorine surface activity has natural advantages in reducing the surface tension of liquids and the interfacial tension between liquids and solids, which can effectively improve the expansion rate.
1101 is a fluorine surfactant applied to soldering flux, which can effectively reduce the surface tension of the alcohol water system, reach 20dyn/cm, and improve the soldering flux expansion rate by more than 10%. It has the characteristics of low dosage and good compatibility with formula components. It does not contain halogens (free chlorine).
